The only problems I have had out of this truck was due to lack of care by previous owners Nice high ride. My check engine light is also on again.
Are your tires inflated to the recommended pressures on the door jam? It did it again in December 2007 mileage: 29082 while I was on the street. I get better gas mileage than expected though still not great - it's a truck, after all and the ride is very, very smooth. It claims there is something wrong with the fuel cap or the fuel lines. Were they gapped properly when you installed them? The problem is, is that I have never been in any accident, or anything, so I don't understand where this randomly came from. .
This is very annoying and after researching on internet, we found this is a very common problem with Ford and has been a problem for a long time. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred whenever there was a front passenger riding occupying the seat and the passenger leg touched the fuel relay switch. Vernon and they replace fuel pump. Vernon and they replace the battery this time. The suspension feels a bit off, and makes loud rattles when going over speed bumps. The only thing I dislike is as a woman, I am small and wish that the Sport Trac had the extendable foot pedals as my Mercury Sable did.
The rest of the kilometers were in the city 25 percent , in the suburbs 0 percent , and in heavy traffic 0 percent. I had to have it towed to quality Ford of mt. Don't waste your time wasting ours! The Ford Explorer Sport Trac is a very reliable truck, from my experience. I love the bounce of a truck and the ability to haul stuff. Not bad though -- considering it's a 10+ year old truck. Then February 22, 2008 mileage: 30972 the car shut off on me while I was driving locally and I got a jump and took it back to quality Ford of mt. This is a hazardous condition and should be recalled. The contact was unable to add fuel to her vehicle and she was also unable to drive it. Outside of that, the vehicle has held up well.
