This recording features highlights from concerts at Baden- Baden's Festspielhaus, where tickets to this extraordinary event sold out in record time. Camus shows a penchant for literary and perhaps he's the best Spanish film adapter, a fact that will be a constant in his films. In 1983 he was given the 'Medalla Oro De las Bellas Artes' Arts Gold Medal , and one year later he prepared his most successful work both with public and critic : ¨Los Santos Inocentes¨ 1984 , an adaptation from the novel by Miguel Delibes. This is a provoking but slow-moving drama concerning on a few roles who suffer the consequences of their decisions. It starts and finishes with no explanation as to what is going on or why.
His first feature films were ¨Los Farsantes¨ 1963 and ¨Young Sánchez¨ 1964 , this is one of the greatest movies about boxing which won the Best Film Award at the Buenos Aires Festival. Summary: After a failed attempt at working on a foreign film set, 26 year-old Ana returns to her hometown of Strasbourg. Baden-Baden is revitalising itself and attracting increasing numbers of international visitors. Rating : Better than average ; it's a decent film though sometimes slow-moving. All we know is that Ana is a bit of a loser who doesn't have any kind of idea about anything and cares less about it all, except for Grandmother who she runs to when she has nowhere else to go.
Over the scorching summer that follows, she decides to replace her grandmother's bathtub with a walk-in shower, eat peas and carrots with ketchup, drive a Porsche, harvest plums, lose her driver's license, sleep with her best After a failed attempt at working on a foreign film set, 26 year-old Ana returns to her hometown of Strasbourg. . This interesting as well as intimate story is a passionate retelling and a touching drama. Other highlights include Delibes' famous flower duet from Lakmé performed sumptuously by Anna and Elına. Elina Garanca beweist, dass sie den Echo als Sängerin des Jahres verdient hat; Ramón Vargas und Ludovic Tézier glänzen.
The roles in this film ¨The Birds of Baden-Baden¨ are all lovable despite being rather unlucky and unfortunate characters. I don't think I've seen anything like it. Over the scorching summer that follows, she decides to replace her grandmother's bathtub with a walk-in shower, eat peas and carrots with ketchup, drive a Porsche, harvest plums, lose her driver's license, sleep with her best friend and get back together with her ex. Pablo is a loner , an outsider , and separated father who lives with his child named Andrés José Luis Alonso. The movie should be called Bad Bad instead of Baden Baden.
She decides to install a new shower while her Grandmother is in hospital but where does she get the money? The end of the movie is unbelievable. I sometimes wonder how certain movies ever get made. The flick was well directed by Mario Camus following his Sui-Generis style. Later on , Elena asks for advice about this special relationship to her understanding uncle Andrés Mejuto. Meanwhile , there takes place jealousy and violent attitudes by her ex-boyfriend Fernando Alejandro Enciso. He's a rotter and she has some history with him but that's all we know.
A highly sophisticated as well as accomplished work by Mario Camus. Spotless pictorial as well as colorful photography by magnificent cameraman Hans Burmann , he carries out a photography with juicy atmosphere , being filmed on location in Madrid. Over the scorching summer that follows, she decides to replace her grandmother's bathtub with a walk-in shower, eat peas and carrots with ketchup, drive a Porsche, harvest plums, lose her driver's license, sleep with her best friend and get back together with her ex. Extraordinary hot springs, spas and nature, hotels of unparalleled quality — and the lure of the casino. In short, over this particular summer, Ana tries to get her life together.
The only nice guy is Gregoire - Lazarre Gousseau - who helps her with the bathroom but she doesn't go for nice guys, as he discovers. Mario is an expert on interesting dramas as proved in ¨ The house of Bernarda Alba¨ , ¨La Colmena¨ which won the Golden Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival , ¨The days of the past ¨ and many others. Mario has an important career with film and television adaptations quite remarkable , as he efficiently directed yarns based on notorious writers such as Perez Galdos , García Lorca , Cela Camilo José Cela and Miguel Delibes. Support cast is frankly excellent , with plenty of familiar faces giving brief but attractive interpretations , such as : Carlos Larrañaga , Antonio Iranzo , Cándida Losada , Andrés Mejuto , Teresa Del Río , Carlos Otero , Concha Cuetos , William Layton , and Carmen De La Maza. Und natürlich kann mit solchen Opern-Highlights gar nichts schiefgehen.
I wouldn't recommend you to spend your time with this dismal effort, it's just not worth it. Being based on a novel by Ignacio Aldecoa , also adapted in ¨Young Sánchez¨, Camus's early film. She has no job and not much in the way of brains it would seem. Over the centuries, Baden-Baden has evolved into an enchanting destination, offering a spectacularly diverse range of opportunities for both relaxation and excitement. Ana goes off with yet another bloke who she doesn't even know and who doesn't really want to know her, they sit in a field next to Le Corbusier's Notre Dame du Haut we don't know why and then. He worked with Carlos Saura in several screenplays during the early 60s as ¨Los Golfos¨ 1960 , ¨ Llanto Por Un Bandido¨ 1964 , and also directed some shorts.
The very good being Claude Gensac who plays Ana's Grandmother and Lazarre Gousseau, who plays Gregoire. Likewise the former boyfriend Simon - the unlikely named Swann Arlaud - with whom she shares a shower in a motel and her body on regular occasions. There are various dead-end threads that wave around in the breeze, like Boris the supposed artist whose mother lives in a very expensive apartment. Gorgeous Catherine Spaak gives an acceptable acting as a beautiful young in love , though she does not reach entirely immersed in the whirlwind of passion and Frédéric de Pasquale as Pablo stands out as a humble as well as strange man who is really infatuated. After a failed attempt at working on a foreign film set, 26 year-old Ana returns to her hometown of Strasbourg. Intense and heart-rending drama about a deep love story that leads to tragic consequences. I can only imagine that either they ran out money or just gave up and went home.
