One which according to a parts picture I have is the front axle actuator, it is mounted horizontally on the front axle and it has a black connector. The light may have been burned out for a long time since I never pay it much attention. Lots of power but im at a loss for words. I've replaced two electronic items, the switch on top of the transfer case and the control module on the front axel. In not using it much, it makes me wonder how it got worn.

When you are in 2wd sitting at a stop, in park or neutral, and you press four high, do you hear anything, and does the light continuously flash or revert back to 2wd. If the actuator is not working then it is not going to activate the switch at the actuator to sent a signal back to the switch in the dash to let it know that the 4wd has been actatived. Which wires what colors at what switch did you check? Electronic Automatic Temperature Control or manual? Reverse clutch burnt, worn, or leaking. I have also verified that the transfer case is engaging and the front driveshaft is spinning. Can I check the switch with an Ohms meter to verify if it is faulty or not? The symbol in the actuator shows that it is a coil of wire, or a resistor of some sort.
The open differential allows the wheels to turn at different rates of speed while the axle continues to transmit the driving force. I think there is even an updated actuator asy available. But I hope he is doing well. Test front axle solenoid power circuit. Ive had this blazer for about a month now its got about 25000 km on a new motor and the gas mileage has been terrible 9 -10 mpg average its alittle hard to start turns over quite a few times before starting but other then that it runs good and no codes.
