If the rebuilt trans has 120k on it, the story has just changed and its not a nice ending. Pink was on C, yellow and light green were on F and G. The K1500 has a service capacity of 7 quarts. Generators can be run off Red or Agricultural diesel as there is no Road Fuel Duty to pay. After refill check oil level. When the ignition is in the on position Battery + voltage is sent to the Trans fuse. .
A diesel engine ignite the fuel by compression, the gasoline engine ignite it with spark plugs. Thanks for any help you can provide. The generator should come with a note as to what lubricating oil it uses, and different diesel engines in cars and lorries require different grades of oil. On the transmission the Trans fuse protects shift solenoids; A, B, 2, 3 and the tongue convertor clutch solenoid. Normally riveted to the transmission case, this tag identifies the transmission by model number. Making me think that the part the the harness plugs into has failed. I called advance auto parts and auto zone.
If all that checks out ok. He suggested that doing an ohm test on the solenoids first. But with the wiring being different, who knows. I will not replace anything until I can get some help to confirm 99% what the issue is. If you had a bi-directional scan tool it would help with diagnosis. The harness letters didn't match up to the colors.
I've replaced all the solenoids as well as the harness inside the transmission also ohmed the solenoids. Refill the tank to full with the proper fuel. Let me know if you need more information. You need to remove the fuel tank, and drain it well. A quick test of solenoid operation; with the transmission harness disconnected and the test harness attached apply 12 volts to terminal E while grounding terminal A or terminal B listen for the clicking of the solenoid.
The bell housing is not integral to the transmission and warning labels may be attached to the transmission specifying the use of Castrol Syntec fluid only. Good luck and hope this helps. I wouldn't do that because, although it may well dissolve a lot of the impurities it's not nearly as good a lubricant as the oil and the bearings would not like it. A didn't have a wire on the harness and D was black. There is going to be a gas engine in the mix somewhere--it doesn't matter if it's in a company car, the parts-hauler pickup, a generator, a trash pump. The codes the computer gave me were all solenoid related.
I can provide more information as necessary. No resistance on anything at all except terminals A and D. It's really easy to test which gear the transmission is in as I live in the mountains in Montana. But as soon as I place the transmission fuse in, the voltage from the ignition switch drops to either 1. Eric: It starts up and drives fine.
What gain do you think you are going to get from flushing? Ensure you can park with the car level and with clearance to place an oil drain… I've had this happen more than once on diesel trucks in my shop. A diesel engine has glow plugs, a gasoline engine has spark plugs. I've checked other possibilities for poor performance and they are all good. In my opinion I think your Ignition switch is ok if you have B+ voltage to the Trans fuse. Or are we asking about fuel? This is a fairly easy job, albeit a messy one, that you should be able to get done in about an hour.
You'd be better not to use anything. So I tested both ways. It's not the same kind of engine. I also can start with the shifter in drive, take off punching it with the high rpm's it also shifts into drive. Both persons I spoke with said diesel fuel to flush engine works better than any engine… it depends- Do not use any type of turbine oil it is synthetic and will eat up your seals.
I have routinely changed fluid and filter, also changed out shifter soloniod, no difference. Identification: check tag on case. These transmissions each require a different visual identification process, however, locating the identification tag attached to the driver's side of the transmission case is a start. This fluid gets dark and discolored over time, and loses its effectiveness and viscosity. Check fluid level and add fluid as needed.
Sorry it took me a while to reply, busy with work. The transmission fuse is the ignition switch voltage for that circuit. Step 1 Drive… What are we actually asking here? So luckily there's a noticeable difference between gears. Invest in K1500 automatic transmission repair and in addition to stronger overall performance and dependability, enjoy home shipping. As a quick check disconnect the round transmission connector and see if the voltage drop goes away. Having a manual or automatic transmission determines the steps to be taken.
