It whines as it goes down the road now. I took it in to be looked at and was told it will need a new transmission. Broken top motor mount and a defective front seat belt buckle. We are going through this problem right now with our 2007 Ford Freestyle. I have my twin 5-year-old daughters with me, and am just thankful that we discovered the problem before it died on us - that would have been dangerous! I live where the speed limit is 55mph.
I have called Ford several times looking for some help take my car and give me another. I took it into my mechanic and he said it was coming from the transmission, so we took it into a transmission shop that rebuilds transmissions. We had several items replaced multiple times under warranty. I planned on another one but only if they resolve this mess! This all happened in the beginning of 2012 and we had to pay 5000 bucks for a new trans with warrenty. Thanks for your support in this matter.
When I called Ford, they basically said sorry but that I am out of luck. I have a 2007 Ford Freestyle with just under 60,000 miles. It didn't do it again until last night and since then, it has lurched and stalled 3 different times while driving. However, besides the rediculous cost, parts are not available anywhere. Had to pay for a tow truck to take it home and I don't want to even mention the cost to replace the transmission but you already know.

I only owe 3000 on the car and it will take around 5000 to fix. Over the course of 3 months it has been back 6 times, often for weeks, and the transmission has been pulled 3 times. The Ford garage fixed it while under an extended warranty. Looked down and saw the wrench and engine light on, pulled over and shut the car off, sat for a few mintes started again. The shop wants to charge me six thousand dollars to fix which i cant afford and I am gonna have to try to trade it in but dealerships don't want to give me anything for it because of its bad history of such a pricey repair. This is a money pit and a safety hazard. I'm taking it to dealer this morning to take care of throttle recall.
