Recently, the reverse function simply failed to respond. Even though the car is now 17 years old, it still looks great and handles very well. Otherwise I could have had the transmission rebuilt, replacing the broken clutch drum with a new clutch drum. After searching the internet I realized this is a very common. I was stuck and had to have reverse to leave the location where I had taken my daughter. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification was to begin during July 2001. My transmission had to be completely rebuilt in order to replace that part, and the debris from the broken drum has to cleaned out.
These are amazing cars and make up for their shortfalls many times over as soon as you jump in and drive away. These companies can not be supplying faulty materials and be expecting the consumer to pick up the tab because of their sloppiness. The big problem which caused me write this complaint was the transmission problem that a lot of people were having with their cars not wanting to go in reverse. . Help and advice will be most welcome, as well as you guys who have maybe had a similar problem on the petrol six cylinder cars of that era? I had no indication, no noise or sound out of the ordinary. This is my family's only source of transportation.

I pulled into a convenience store head in. This problem comes and goes. The car is kept in an interior garage and driven mostly within the city. It sounds like it is in neutral. On road trips, I average around 32mpg, and strictly city, closer to 20mpg. Along with other small mechanical issues the car can sometimes be down for matinence for up to 2 weeks for a stay at home mechanic. This transmission and the cars it is installed in should be recalled.

Remedy Dealers will inspect the tires, and, if damage from the mounting machine is found, the tire will be replaced. Hope that it solves it! This is the same issue I see all over the internet. This was a safety hazard as the car was parked down hill and close to a fencing. Car appears to be in neutral when in reverse, engine revs with no effect.
